Fire Season Procedures
In the event of a Power Shut-Off, the Marin County Office of Education, in coordination with PG&E, the Marin County Fire Department, and the Marin County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services have recommended procedures for school districts. The Ranch will fall in lines with these recommended procedures.

If the RUSD schools are closed or become closed due to a power outage then programs and classes will not be held. The Ranch will contact program participants, by email to notify you that your program has been canceled.
Please make sure that we have your most updated email within your families account.

Based on the information and guidance we receive in the event of a power shut down, please be aware of the following procedures:

IN THE EVENT THAT POWER IS SHUT DOWN DURING A RANCH PROGRAM- The Ranch will teach the remainder of the class and child participants can be picked up at normal class pick up time, from their usual location. The Extended Care program will be canceled, and guardians will be contacted to come and pick up their children.

COMMUNICATION DURING THE POWER OUTAGE - The Ranch will make every effort to provide updated information regarding status of the outage, using whatever information channels we have available, with the understanding that communication systems will be limited. The Ranch will communicate by email only during a power outage as phones will not be available.

WHEN POWER IS RESTORED- When power is restored, and schools are back in session, The Ranch programs will resume as normal.
