While Angel Island and our Fantastical Adventures Day Camps are some of our most popular summer programs, we also offer camps and classes that are run by outside instructors and organizations that specialize in a specific field. Click on the course number to enroll in a program.
 
 
TAEKWONDO
MASTER MILLER'S MARTIAL ARTS LIFE SKILLS CAMP
Instructor: Master Alex Miller 
Location: Belvedere Community Center
Ages: 6-12 years
Fee: $250 
This camp will focus on Taekwondo, the Korean Martial that is now the most popular martial art in the world today! Child safety, community service, tons of exercise, physical fitness, making a martial arts movie, and much, much more! During the week we will focus on exercise, Korean culture,and training while having almost too much fun, Nerf guns and water balloons will be involved. At the end of the week campers may test for their next belt in rank. Students are to wear comfortable clothing, bring their own lunch. Water and snacks provided.

CREATIVE SEWING SLEEPWEAR EDITION: BEGINNERS

Ages: 5-10 years old

In this session of camp, we are planning an emphasis on sleepwear! Campers will learn to sew pajama pants and a night gown. There is cozy flannel, cotton and fleece to sew with and to use in your designs of a cute sleep bag and blanket, matching pillows, stuffed animals and bags. All the materials are included and a healthy snack will be provided.

We balance computer time with fun outdoor activities. Get ready to use cameras and Minecraft characters to create amazing stop-motion animated movies. Whether your story is about fighting the Wither, going on an adventure, or building the coolest pixel art in the overworls, you'll have an opportunity to tell it at Minecraft Animated! We'll create real life sets as we learn about stop-motion animation (think Wallace and Gromit) then film, edit and upload our creations to YouTube.

We balance computer time with fun outdoor activities. Learn to make Let's Play, Build Battle, or MInecraft tutorial videos, then share them with friends on YouTube when camp is over! We'll start the week by working on a collaborative parkour obstacle course to build our design and teamwork skills. Then we'll move on to learining about what makes a great screencast before planning, filming, editing and uploading our own to YouTube!

TGA PREMIER JUNIOR GOLF

Location: McKegney Green & Mill Valley Golf Course
Fee: $300  
TGA Premier Golf has been teaching kids in Marin since 2006! Begin the TGA Player Pathway with summer camps. For one week, McKegney Green will become a golf practice center. Our enthusiastic and creative staff will set up a driving range, putting center, and mock golf course each day. Campers will learn and hone swing concepts with instruction and games. We use junior sized equipment, safe golf balls and lots of props to keep campers engaged and entertained. As the week progresses, campers will play a simulated golf course to learn etiquette, pace of play and scoring. The final day of camp, kids will play Mill Valley Golf Course in a scramble format under the guidance of the TGA Staff! Sportsmanship and teamwork will be the theme of this camp! Ideal for beginners, intermediate players, and those who have been in the TGA enrichment programs. GIRLS ENGINEERING & DESIGN

This calss is perfect for any girl who enjoys designing and building in a collaborative environment. Budding engineers will explore the basic principles of design and technical sketching. Students will have opportunities to build structures, simple machines and working circuits. Participants will learn essential skills through STEAM inspired challenges and tools, including computer aided design (CAD).

FASHION DESIGN: INTERMEDIATE

Fashion design camp will provide opportunities for students to sew and design a fashionable outfit and accessories. They will choose to sew their own skirt, simple dress, scarf and studded bag. They will learn how to use kid-friendly patterns to trace, cut, sew & design. They can choose from a variety of fabrics and accessories. There will be two Brother Project Runway LB6800 machines for the campers to use. A healthy snack will be provided.

SPA DAY CAMP

Location: Landmarks Art & Garden Center, Tiburon 
Ages: 8-12 years  
Fee: $350
Ready to pamper yourself after a long summer? This camp covers it all! Campers will make a variety of craft projects including; bath bombs, sugar scrubs, lip glosses, pillow cases, hair ties and jewelry. Relax the afternoon away indulging in face masks, foot scrubs and nail art. Campers will also participate in making healthy wraps, salads and fruit smoothies each day. We will wrap up the last day of camp witha pajama party!

PEE WEE CAMP

Ages: 3-5 years

This camp is perfect for your tot who is eager for a summer camp experience, but may not be ready for a full day just yet, At Pee Wee Camp, tots will engage in age appropriate art projects, science experiments, cooking lessons, sports and water play. We will have dress up days and free play as well as themed games and story time. Tots must be potty trained and comfortable away from their parents. Plesse send campers with a lunch, snacks will be provided. Campers will check in each morning at the Belvedere Community Center Founders Room.

KINDERGARTEN READINESS
Instructor: Nancy Capelloni
Ages: Children entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2018 
Location: Dairy Knoll, Room 3
Fee: $350 
Being prepared for kindergarten is important to ensure that each child experiences a positive, happy and academically successful year in school. This week-long program will introduce children to early literacy skills including phonemic awareness, vocabulary development, comprehension, listening and speaking skills; math, including the Kindergarten Common Core strands of geometry, numeracy, measurement, and concepts of time; fine motor skills and handwriting; cooperation, following directions, and independence. The activities will be embedded in a developmentally appropriate environment encouraging creative play, exploration and discovery. Children enrolled in any public/private kindergarten for the Fall 2016 school year are eligible to attend. The teacher to child ratio will be 1:7. Enrollment is limited to a maximum of 16 children. Nancy Cappelloni taught and consulted in kindergarten at Reed School from 1997 to 2014. She holds a Doctorate in Education from the University of San Francisco, where she teaches in the School of Education. Dr. Cappelloni works privately as an Educational Consultant in Tiburon.

CAMP CANCELLATION POLICY 
Camp Cancellations will be processed less a $50 cancellation fee. NO REFUNDS will be given for cancellations made within the 4 weeks leading upto the start date of your camp session. No refunds will be issued due to illness.
Camp Transfers must be made at least 1 week prior to you camp session’s start date and will incur a $15 transfer fee.
